The Kamala Harris campaign has launched a new movement for Republicans who hate Donald Trump: “Republicans for Harris.”
A press release states: “Today, Harris for President is launching Republicans for Harris, a grassroots organizing program to further outreach efforts to the millions of Republican voters who continue to reject the chaos, division and violence of Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda. This program will leverage principal travel, on-the-ground organizing efforts, and paid media to reach, persuade, and mobilize Republican voters.”
The release lists various endorsements from “prominent Republic voices” including Stephanie Grisham, Chuck Hagel, Jim Edgar, Rod Chandler, Geoff Duncan, Adam Kinzinger and Joe Walsh.
“Donald Trump’s MAGA extremism is toxic to the millions of Republicans who no longer believe the party of Donald Trump represents their values and will vote against him again in November,” said Austin Weatherford, who served as former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s chief of staff and has now been appointed National Director of Republican Outreach for the Harris campaign.
“Vice President Harris and our campaign are working overtime to earn the support of my fellow Republicans who care about defending democracy and restoring decency.”
On social media, the response from Republicans was less than positive.
“The same Never Trump losers over & over again,” Tweeted Jeff Carlson.
“Democrats all. If we had a real party, the GOP would purge themselves of these frauds.
“Let me guess. Mitt Romney chairman. Liz Cheney vice chairman. Adam Kinsinger treasurer. Lincoln Project youth outreach,” joked another user.
