Former President Joe Biden struggled with memory lapses and recalled wrong dates during his interview with special counsel Robert Hur, audio of his interview shows.

Axios on Friday published the bombshell recordings illustrating how the enfeebled Biden could barely answer a few simple questions about his mishandling of classified documents — let alone run a nation.

During one portion of the interview, prosecutors had to remind Biden of the year his son Beau died.

“OK, yeah. In 2017, Beau had passed and — this is personal — the genesis of the book and the title Promise Me, Dad, was a — I know you’re all close with your sons and daughters, but Beau was like my right arm and Hunt was my left,” Biden can be heard saying, with ticks from the grandfather clock in the White House map room audible.

Beau died in 2015.

“Was it 2015 he had died?” Biden asked.

Biden also couldn’t fully explain why he kept classified Afghanistan documents, answering, “I guess I wanted to hang onto it just for posterity’s sake.”

Following the interview, Hur in a report wrote Biden’s memory appeared “significantly limited” during the interviews and described him as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Hur’s report stated. “It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

Biden at the time blasted Hur for claiming he couldn’t remember the date of Beau’s death, asking “How in the hell dare he raise that?”

The recordings arrive ahead of the release of Axios writer Alex Thompson’s new book Original Sin, co-authored by CNN’s Jake Tapper, covering the coverup of Biden’s cognitive decline.

Other revelations in the book include claims Biden was one fall away from needing a wheelchair and he reportedly forgot who actor George Clooney was.

“This makes Watergate look like a parking ticket,” commented Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld.
