Border Czar Tom Homan says he wants the Department of Justice to prosecute officials in sanctuary states who are doing their best to frustrate President Trump’s immigration agenda.
In an interview with Jordan Conradson of The Gateway Pundit, Homan warned officials in sanctuary states “don’t cross the line.”
“If you cross the line and commit a crime, then we’ll certainly ask for criminal prosecution,” Homan said.
Earlier this week, Homan said Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell may be under investigation by the DoJ, for attempting to obstruct Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in his city. Homan also said he would be paying a visit to Nashville himself.
At present, a former and a sitting judge have been arrested for harbouring or preventing the arrest of illegal aliens. Rep. LaMonica McIver is also facing charges for assaulting ICE agents during a publicity stunt at an ICE detention center in New Jersey.
Homan also said the GOP needs to “give [the American people] what they want” by ensuring Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which includes massive funding for immigration enforcement, passes.
“Look, President Trump was voted into office by the American people, and the biggest issue was securing the border and removing public safety threats and national security threats, criminal illegal aliens in this country,” Homan explained.
“The American people voted for that. I would think every member of the GOP would agree, there’s no downside to securing the border. There’s no downside on removing public safety threats in this country. It should be a nonpartisan issue, but especially the GOP, who the American people have spoken, this is what they want. We’re giving them what they want. They need to give them what they want also. That’s my opinion.”
Republican Senators Rick Scott and Ron Johnson have both voiced loud concerns about the bill, with Johnson claiming it doesn’t have the necessary votes to pass the Senate.
