The Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, declared Monday that he intends to grill Anthony Fauci over what he described as “mad science projects” going on with NIH funding, and a “potential cover up” of the coronavirus lab leak.
Appearing on Fox News, Comer asserted that “This isn’t over just because the government has admitted that Covid originated in the Wuhan lab. We need to hold people accountable for potential cover-ups and accountable for doing ‘Mad Science’ type projects.”
“The sad part about this is we were funding this with our tax dollars. Even though Dr. Fauci denied that early on… That is why Dr. Fauci needs to be brought into these committees under oath,” Comer added.
Comer further noted, “…all of Dr. Fauci’s early pandemic advisors said, ‘This was obviously a lab leak, because that’s what we’re doing at the Wuhan lab, we’re researching Covid viruses. So obviously, if it started in Wuhan, China, it started at the lab.’”
“But then Dr. Fauci had a conference call, and from that point on they never emailed again and they just basically went along with everything Dr. Fauci said in saying it was a conspiracy theory,” Comer urged.
“This is what I have called from day one, ‘Mad Science,’ Comer continued, adding “the sad part about this is we were funding this with our tax dollars. Even though Dr. Fauci denied that early on, he denied we were doing gain-of-function research… and he denied that tax dollars were being used in this. Both statements were not true. That is why Dr. Fauci needs to be brought into these committees under oath.”
“He has a lot of explaining to do, and then we can decide what actions need to be taken going forward,” Comer stated.
