Rap legend Ice Cube says he ultimately passed up the Covid-19 vaccine because he didn’t want to be pressured into taking something he didn’t believe was healthy.
Speaking to The Bootleg Kev Podcast last week, the NWA co-founder firmly reiterated his opposition to the vaccine.
“You ended up being right about a lot of shit, especially like…I’ll say this, you’re the main reason I didn’t get the second jab, man,” podcast host DJ Bootleg Kev told Cube, AKA O’Shea Jackson.

“That’s good,” remarked the “It Was A Good Day” lyricist.
“I got the first one, but then I was like, ‘Wait, Cube passed up on nine million dollars? I got to look into this,'” Kev said.
“I didn’t need the jab,” Cube responded.
“So thank you for that though, Cube. You saved me from a potential vaccine injury or, you know, Myocarditis…,” Kev said, with Cube answering, “If you didn’t need it, you shouldn’t get it.”
Asked how it felt to suddenly find himself the poster child for the anti-vax movement, Cube clarified he’s not anti-vax and received childhood vaccinations, before pointing out, “No, [I] don’t take flu shots.”
Cube argued child immunizations “were studied for years;” however, Covid jabs were “some new six months fast-track bullshit.”
The Friday actor said he made a conscious decision to take a stand for what he believed in.
“So the difference was: me. I knew it was nothing they could do to make me do it, outside holding me down and sticking it in my arm, and I felt like nobody was gonna do that, so I knew that bad press, people coming down on you, people talking shit, I’ve had that before, and that don’t kill you,” Cube stated.
“I mean at the end of the day, in a flood you want to be a tree…You want to be steady while everything is rushing by.”
“So stand your ground, stand on your beliefs. Let the chips fall where they may,” he continued.
“I was willing to take any kind of consequence for standing on what I believe would actually harm me and not help me.”
In Oct. 2021, Cube made headlines when he rejected a $9 million offer for an acting role after refusing to take a Sony studio-mandated Covid jab.
