Two suspected sex predators who are in the U.S. illegally were arrested by federal authorities on consecutive days this month in the liberal stronghold of Nantucket Island.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the recent apprehensions of two men who slipped into the U.S. undetected before allegedly going on to commit heinous crimes against innocent victims, at least one of whom was under 14 years of age.
Incredibly, both men were on the loose after being released on bail by Nantucket District Court.
On Sept. 10, ICE caught Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, a 28-year-old Salvadoran who entered the U.S. at an unknown date and location.
“Nantucket authorities arraigned Aldana July 26 in Nantucket District Court for one count of rape of a child with a 10-year age difference and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14,” ICE explained in a press release.
The court released Aldana-Arevalo on bail on July 29, and he remained free in the Nantucket community until ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) picked him up nearly 45 days later.

“Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo stands accused of some detestable and disturbing crimes against a Nantucket child,” ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement.
“He represents a significant danger to the children of our Massachusetts communities.”
On Sept. 11, ICE agents nabbed Gean Do Amaral Belafronte on Nantucket Island.
Belafronte, a Brazilian national of undisclosed age, first entered the U.S. lawfully on Oct. 8, 2018, but later violated the terms of his admission and voluntarily left the country on April 18, 2021.
Belafronte had been arrested days prior to his exit for allegedly grabbing his victim, pinning her to the ground, and saying, “I will rape you,” as he licked her face, according to the Nantucket Current.
He then reentered the U.S. at an unknown location and date.
On March 12, 2024, Belafronte was arrested on a warrant and arraigned on charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or older in connection with the 2021 incident.
He was then released on $500 cash bail or $5,000 surety bond by Nantucket District Court and remained on the loose until ICE ERO Boston agents apprehended him this month.

“Gean Do Amaral Belafronte unlawfully entered the United States, made his way to Nantucket, and allegedly sexually assaulted one of our residents,” said ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons.
Both men were being held in ICE custody following their arrests.
Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals illegally present in the U.S., many of whom have been previously released into the country by law enforcement agencies.
