Federal authorities apprehended two more illegal aliens facing charges for violent crimes who were running loose on Nantucket Island.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released details about apprehensions that unfolded during a recent operation in the wealthy Massachusetts enclave.
On Sept. 11, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston agents captured Felix Alberto Perez-Gomez, a 41-year-old citizen of Guatemala who has been previously deported.
Perez-Gomez first entered the U.S. at an unknown location and date before being convicted of reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person in Pennsylvania in 2011.
He was removed from the country in 2011, but snuck back in at an unknown location and date.
“The Nantucket District Court arraigned Perez Aug. 19, 2024, for indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or older,” ICE explained in a press release.
Perez-Gomez was apparently released back into the community before being picked up by ICE this month.

On Sept. 12, ERO Boston agents apprehended 30-year-old Angel Gabriel Deras-Mejia, a known MS-13 gangbanger from El Salvador.
Deras-Mejia illegally entered the U.S. at an unknown location and date, indicating he is one of millions of ‘unknown gotaways’ lurking across the country.
He was arrested by Nantucket police on Aug. 26 and charged with two counts of assault and battery on a household member and disorderly conduct.
He was apparently released back into the community before ICE apprehended him weeks later.

“Angel Gabriel Deras-Mejia unlawfully entered the United States then made his way to Massachusetts, to apparently commit crimes of violence,” ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement.
“To make matters worse, Deras-Mejia is a documented member of a notorious transnational criminal organization and represents a significant threat to the residents of Nantucket.”
Deras-Mejia was at least the fifth dangerous illegal alien captured by ICE on Nantucket Island in a span of two days.
