An illegal alien has been arrested for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl in New York, authorities say.
On Thursday, the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) announced the apprehension of 26-year-old Wilson Castillo Diaz in Westbury, a village on Long Island.
Castillo Diaz was first encountered by U.S. authorities in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas when he illegally crossed the southern border in April of 2024.
At the time, Castillo Diaz was arrested by Border Patrol then released under orders to appear before a federal immigration judge in the future.
The suspect, whose nationality has not been made public, later skipped his court hearing but apparently stayed in the U.S.
