A New York City cop had part of his finger bitten off by an illegal alien who was arrested after ramming a police cruiser and other cars during a traffic stop and ensuing pursuit this week, according to authorities.

The shocking incident unfolded on Wednesday night in the Big Apple.

NYPD officers in Queens attempted to pull over a Nissan Altima with expired out-of-state plates when the driver took off and led police on a dangerous high-speed chase, the New York Daily News reports.

The suspect left the street and tore through a public park, forcing pedestrians to dive out of the way before he drove against traffic on busy Hillside Avenue.

The suspect subsequently slammed into a police cruiser and three more vehicles before being taken into custody.

He was identified as Lenni Rodriguez-Cruz, 28, an illegal alien of undisclosed nationality who lives in Brooklyn.

Police sources described Rodriguez-Cruz as “emotionally disturbed,” Fox News reports.

“While being lodged in the precinct cells, the individual [Rodriguez-Cruz] began to act disorderly and bit off a portion of a Sergeant’s finger causing a serious physical injury,” authorities told the Daily News.

Rodriguez-Cruz was hit with a slew of charges including assault with intent to cause disfigurement, assaulting a police officer, injuring an on-duty officer, reckless endangerment, fleeing a traffic stop, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving while apparently impaired, and refusing to take a breath test.
