Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz told the IDF this week to prepare to relocate displaced Palestinians to Ireland and Spain, causing the pair of European nations to publicly reject the notion.

Norway and other nations that “falsely accused Israel over its actions in Gaza” will also be “legally obligated” to take in the refugees, according to Katz.

See Katz’ social media message on the subject below:

Spain Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares responded, “Spain makes its own decisions … no third party should tell it what to do.”

The Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, saying the focus should be on “increasing aid to Gaza, restoring essential services, and establishing a clear framework for displaced individuals to return to their homes,” not relocating them to other countries.

The ministry also suggested Katz’s post was “counterproductive and a source of disturbance.”

Time will tell if Gaza residents who have had their homeland destroyed are forced to move to European nations.
