The mayor of troubled Springfield Ohio, which has seen a massive influx of Haitians in the last three years, may be personally profiting from the newcomers, a new report alleges.
The Buckeye Reporter claims that Rob Rue has been renting private properties to Haitians.
A 37-year-old man, identified as “Works,” told the Reporter that he and other Haitians are living in buildings owned by the mayor.
Twitter sleuth Arynne Wexler has turned up records that show Rue owns several properties through his business, Littleton Properties LLC.
Interestingly, many of these properties were purchased in 2021, at around the same time as the federal government started shipping migrants in to the city. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas designated Haitian migrants for temporary protected status at the end of May 2021, and many of Rue’s purchases followed in June 2021.
What's this? The mayor of Springfield, Ohio owns a nice business portfolio that would directly benefit from a migrant influx?

Native residents have alleged that they were kicked out of rental properties to make way for Haitians.
Bill Monaghan, a former journalist who helps manage the Facebook page “Stop the Influx Into Springfield, Ohio,” explained to the Reporter how housing Haitians is much more profitable for landlords, who can charge the new arrivals by the bed, rather than the housing unit itself.
“The town has been flooded with migrants and it has caused a shortage of housing, has caused a huge increase in rental prices,” he said.
“It’s pushing people out of their homes so that Landlords can replace it with people so they could basically charge by the cot instead of by the unit.”

“It would be an extreme strain on our resources. So it’d be fine with me if they decided not to make that visit. It would be very difficult.”
