Joe Biden in a rare interview Wednesday expressed his doubts there will be a peaceful transfer of power in January 2025 “if Trump loses” the election.
CBS News host Robert Costa asked Biden if he’s “confident there will be a transfer of power in 2025.”
In a Freudian slip, Biden replied, “If Trump wins, no. I’m not confident at all” before correcting himself. “I mean, if Trump loses, I’m not confident at all.”
Biden then perpetuated the hoax story that Trump declared there will be a “bloodbath” in the streets if he doesn’t win in November, referring to remarks the former president made in March about America’s dying auto industry.
“He means what he says. We don’t take him seriously. He means it, all the stuff about, ‘if we lose there will be a bloodbath,’” Biden said before criticizing Republicans for recruiting more poll watchers to prevent a stolen election.
Biden has repeatedly advanced the false “bloodbath” talking point to claim that Trump “wants another January 6.”
Biden’s carefully released remarks come just days after Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) warned Democrats to prepare for “civil war conditions” upon preventing Trump from taking office on January 20, 2025 if reelected by invoking the 14th Amendment.
“They want to kick it to Congress, so it’s going to be up to us on January 6, 2025 to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he’s disqualified and then we need bodyguards for everybody and civil war conditions,” Raskin said in February.
“All because the nine Justices…who have not many cases to look at every year, not that much work to do, a huge staff, great protection, simply do not want to do their job and interpret what the great 14th Amendment means,” he said in the resurfaced clip.
The Democrats appear to be conditioning the public to accept that civil war is coming regardless of whether Trump wins or loses.
If Trump wins, Democrats will move to disqualify him under the 14th Amendment and there will be a civil war, and they also claim if he loses he’ll ignite a civil war.
Either way, the sitting U.S. president and Democrats are telegraphing a civil war is on the horizon.
Biden’s full interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” is set to air Aug. 11.
