The Daily Show host Jon Stewart criticized tech entrepreneur Elon Musk for agreeing with Infowars host Alex Jones’ analysis that the disastrous Palisades wildfires represented an intentional plan to destroy and deindustrialize the area.
During Monday night’s episode of TDS, Stewart reviewed a range of reactions from conservatives, claiming they don’t truly care about the tragedy and only speak up to push their own agendas.
After mocking Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (reasonable) suggestion the federal government help California by deploying cloud seeding geo-engineering technology, Stewart went on to play footage of MSNBC host Jen Psaki accusing Jones of spreading misinformation with a headline reading, “Los Angeles Fires Are Part Of A Larger Globalist Plot To Wage Economic Warfare & Deindustrialize The United States Before Triggering Total Collapse.”
“Alright, well it’s Alex Jones. He is certainly known for this type of thinking. I don’t believe anyone is going to be taken in by this type of post,” Stewart said, before going back to the segment with Psaki revealing Musk replied, “True,” in agreement with Jones’ post.
“Now, I feel sad,” Stewart responded quietly, prompting audience laughter.
Of course, Stewart did not delve into the substance of Jones’ argument, which was that the fires were not the result of routine incompetence but a globalist-controlled administrative state that industrially sabotaged the area and created the perfect conditions allowing the fires to burn out of control.
