A new poll from ABC showing Joe Biden’s approval numbers tanking across all metrics left “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos stunned.
“This is just brutal for President Biden,” Stephanopoulos admitted on Sunday in response to the poll
ABC political director Rick Klein responded, “Absolutely George, and you talked earlier about that record low approval rating for President Biden, it’s actually six points down just since February.”
“And the skepticism over his leadership extends deep inside his own party only 36 percent of Democrats think that their party should nominate Joe Biden for a second term,” he continued. “58 percent say they would support someone else, prefer someone else. That’s despite the fact that the entire DNC, most of the Democratic establishment has rallied behind President Biden and you’re seeing real weaknesses in the coalition that powered Joe Biden to the presidency back in 2020.”

Klein then moved on to the most pertinent part of the ABC poll: former President Donald Trump beats Joe Biden by 7 points in a hypothetical 2024 matchup, well outside the margin of error.
“Biden carried independents by 13 points against Donald Trump,” he said. “He is now trailing Trump by nine points, among those same voters. He carried black voters by 75 points in 2020. Now he is up just 35. That may sound like a lot but the fact of the matter is in modern politics, that is not the kind of number that a Democrat needs to be victorious.”
An interesting part of the poll is that 56% of those surveyed want Trump to face charges for “trying to overturn the 2020 election,” but of those, 18% would still vote for him over Biden in 2024.
“I have a hard time wrapping my head around that,” Stephanopoulos confessed.
Klein observed, “That just tells you about how much Trump is kind of baked into the political equation.”
These terrible polling numbers come shortly after Biden announced his bid to retake the White House in 2024.
“This poll also comes at a particularly tumultuous moment for Biden, as the current president just launched his 2024 reelection campaign with a campaign video and a couple of public appearances—but the launch seems to have been rushed by the entrance into the Democrat primary of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Kennedy’s campaign is getting serious support among Democrats, and this survey also shows startling numbers for Biden among his own party,” Breitbart reported.
