Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris is accused of plagiarizing numerous parts of her 2009 book, “Smart on Crime.”

In a breakdown featured on his SubStack Monday, researcher Christopher Rufo covered the recent findings of “plagiarism hunter” Dr. Stefan Weber, an Australian investigator who has busted various German politicians.

Investigating Harris, Weber said he found “27 fragments of plagiarism in her book,” including an instance in which she copy-pasted an entire Wikipedia article without crediting the website as the source.

Dr. Weber noted the “Plagiarism fragments can be proven from p. 10 to p. 185,” and meticulously catalogues each instance in a new slideshow presentation (see below).

In another instance, Kamala “fabricated a source reference, inventing a nonexistent page number,” Dr. Weber said.

“In many other instances, even when a source was cited with a footnote, the text was directly copied and pasted without using quotation marks,” his findings state. “Quotation marks would have been the most transparent and honest approach, also in non-academic books.”

Not only did she plagiarize sections of her book, but Dr. Weber additionally found “live interviews” given by Kamala to media outlets at the time directly quoted content from the book.

Dr. Weber also notes Harris faced plagiarism accusations in 2021 when she told Elle Magazine a childhood story about uttering the word “fweedom” to her mother during a civil rights march in Oakland.

The revelation that Harris is somehow even less authentic than previously thought was pounced on by Trump running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), who called her out on X, sharing Rufo’s article.

Meanwhile, The New York Times downplayed the news, enlisting its own “plagiarism expert” who claimed Dr. Weber’s documented instances of plagiarism “were not serious,” while at the same time suggesting Rufo was possibly racist.

The Harris campaign also downplayed the allegations, claiming Republicans were stretching by investigating a 15-year-old book.

The New York Post reached out to Harris’ co-author on the book, Joan O’C. Hamilton, who was evidently surprised to learn about the allegations, saying, “Oh gosh…I haven’t seen anything…I’m afraid I can’t talk to you right now, though, I’m in the middle of something. Let me go try to figure that out.”

The media’s fierce defense of Harris shows the plagiarism claims have struck a nerve, as they threaten to expose Harris as even more disingenuous and inauthentic than previously believed.
