Update: The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) issued a positive response to Ye’s apology, saying it’s a good first step in reconciling past behavior.

Their statement:

After causing untold damage by using his vast influence and platform to poison countless minds with vicious antisemitism and hate, an apology in Hebrew may be the first step on a long journey towards making amends to the Jewish community and all those who he has hurt. Ultimately, actions will speak louder than words but this initial act of contrition is welcome.

Original story below…

Rapper Kanye West (AKA “Ye”) apologized to the Jewish community in Hebrew on Christmas Day, regretting any offense caused by his past remarks which have been viewed as anti-semitic.

In a message posted to Instagram Monday, the controversial rapper wrote:

“I sincerely apologize to the Jewish community for any unintended outburst caused by my words or actions. It was not my intention to hurt or disrespect, and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused. I am committed to starting with myself and learning from this experience to ensure greater sensitivity and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity.”

Kanye’s apology comes less than two weeks after he reportedly launched into an anti-semitic rant during an event in Las Vegas where he claimed among other things that the Rothschild banking family and Zionists run prominent schools and hospitals.

Many questioned the sincerity of West’s recent statement given its generic, boilerplate nature, with some asking if it “was really written by West or a business associate — or even Chat GPT,” according to Variety.com.

Others also highlighted the statement’s proximity to the release date of West’s upcoming album, “Vultures,” scheduled to drop Jan. 12, 2024.

Lyrics in the upcoming album, including a bar stating, “How am I antisemitic? I just f*cked a Jewish bitch,” have prompted concerns over further potentially offensive content.

West famously aired his grievances with Zionism and the Israeli government during an interview on The Alex Jones Show last December, after which he was canceled by fashion brand Adidas.
