Famous musician Kid Rock and presidential frontrunner Donald Trump reportedly approached the CEO of Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch and let him know where they stand on the recent controversy over a can of beer featuring transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.
Kid Rock told Fox News host Sean Hannity he was sitting with Trump at a recent UFC fight when he spotted the CEO and informed the former president.
“You want to go talk to him?” Trump allegedly asked, with Kid Rock saying, “I do.”
The musician told Hannity the pair then approached the CEO and had “a great conversation.”
Kid Rock told the beer mogul, “You signaled to a lot of people, like myself, like-minded people. Put the trans thing aside for a minute. By sending that can to the trans kid, you kind of signaled to us you support this lifestyle. And more importantly, men being in women’s sports or in my granddaughter’s locker room. Most of us draw a hard line right there… Leave our freaking kids out of it.”
With Kid Rock saying his conversation with Trump and the Anheuser-Busch head was “great,” it’s possible the company learned from the public backlash and could do things differently going forward.
Bud Light recently landed a deal as the “official beer partner” of the UFC with the CEO Dana White explaining, “They were our first real big sponsor,” during the company’s infancy.
Also signaling changes, Anheuser-Busch InBev’s U.S. chief marketing officer announced this week he’ll be resigning at the end of the year.
