Kyle Rittenhouse has been released from jail after posting a $2 million bail through his attorney, according to reports.
“[Rittenhouse’s] bond was posted this afternoon at about 2:00 pm which was set up through his attorney,” said Kenosha County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright Friday. “He is no longer in custody at the Kenosha County Jail.”
The 17-year-old was charged with killing two during the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last August in a shooting his lawyers say was self-defense.
The charges he faces are intentional homicide, reckless endangerment and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
Rittenhouse is due back in court on December 3rd for a preliminary hearing.
