Small, unmanned drones were spotted flying over the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base campus on Friday, causing the Ohio military base to shut down for several hours due to the security breach before reopening Saturday morning.
The incident took place as swarms of drones are being seen around the country, mostly on the East Coast.
Air traffic control audio posted online confirms the base was closed “for heavy UAF activity.”

WHIO reached out to the Air Force base and learned the shut down lasted four hours.

The chief of public affairs for the 88th Air Base Wing at the base told the outlet, “To date, installation leadership has determined none of the incursions impacted base residents, facilities or assets.”
The U.S. military’s National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) headquarters are at located at Wright-Patterson.
NASIC happens to be the Air Force arm of the Department of Defense when it comes to foreign air and space threat analysis, with the agency’s website stating its mission is to “discover and characterize air, space, missile, and cyber threats.”
So, is NASIC being tested by the American military in a covert operation or is it being tested by a foreign adversary? If it were the latter, why not shoot down the drones or somehow eliminate the threat?
Additionally, CNN reports, “Wright-Patterson, about five miles outside the city of Dayton, is home to critical US Air Force commands, including the Air Force Research Lab, which bills itself as looking for ways to counter ‘technological advancements (that) bring threats to our way of life.'”
The mystery aircraft have been harassing America for months now with the sightings and incidents only increasing over time.
In October, U.S. Air Force Gen. Mark Kelly told the Wall Street Journal that a group of 20-foot-long drones flying over 100 MPH had been spotted entering restricted air space at Virginia’s highly-guarded Langley Air Force Base every day for over two weeks.
The drones were reportedly first spotted near U.S. bases in December 2023!
After the October swarms at Langley, the Biden administration started holding meetings to determine whether or not the Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) were a threat.
Edwards Air Force Base near Los Angeles, California, also reported witnessing swarms of drones in August and September.
Now, dozens of drones are being spotted around the country and the entire nation is waiting for answers from an unresponsive Biden administration that claims it has no clue where they’re coming from while maintaining they present no threat.
