A Colombian male died after falling off the international border wall while attempting to enter the U.S. illegally, authorities say.
The incident unfolded in San Diego just before 6 a.m. on November 8.
A group of ‘migrants’ were observed by a National Guardsman monitoring surveillance cameras as they scaled the first of two barriers near the Otay Mesa Port of Entry, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) explained in a recent press release.
A Border Patrol agent arrived to the scene minutes later and saw two men atop the 30-foot metal fence.
As they began climbing down the north side of the barrier, one of the men fell off and landed on the ground below.
The other man successfully completed his descent and escaped into the U.S. as a ‘gotaway,’ while the fallen man remained on the ground, moaning in pain.
The agent radioed for emergency medical services and then removed a ladder the men had used to mount the fence before entering the ‘no man’s land’ between the parallel barriers to reach the injured illegal.
Approximately 15 minutes later, the man became unresponsive and was deceased by the time San Diego Fire Department paramedics arrived.
In the past week, CBP has released information about four other ‘migrant’ deaths along the southern border, of which there have been more than 2,700 during the Biden-Harris invasion – the most on record.
- April 27: Border Patrol agents rescued two Mexican illegals in Del Rio Sector. One of the men was in “medical distress” due to “environmental exposure” and passed away a short time later.
- May 31: A husband and wife from Mexico illegally crossed the border under “extremely hot” conditions in New Mexico. The couple approached a construction worker at a home in Sunland Park requesting medical assistance. The woman was rushed to hospital in El Paso where she died days later.
- June 14: Border Patrol apprehended members of a group who had illegally crossed the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass. However, one man jumped into a canal to escape. He was swept away in the current and his body was recovered the following day.
- June 22: A female from Mexico died from heat stroke after illegally crossing the border near Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
