MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell said he plans to sue House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for not making the 44,000 hours of Jan. 6 footage public.
Lindell told told Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast on Thursday that the January 6 video footage should not be exclusively reserved for Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, saying it looks like a “cover up.”
“We’re not gonna sit back and let that happen,” Lindell told Bannon, former White House chief strategist. “It’s like a cover up. Why does just Fox get this? So they can cover it up even more? It’s disgusting. All of us, including War Room, we all need to see what’s on those tapes, and we need to see all of them.”
“Fox is gonna sift through it and put out only what they want,” he said, adding that freedom of the press has been “injured” by McCarthy’s decision to continue withholding the footage from the American people.
Lindell also said he’ll take the lawsuit “all the way up” to the Supreme Court if necessary.
“I’m tired of the violations of our constitutional rights,” Lindell said.
McCarthy had turned over the 44,000+ hours of footage to Carlson this week after initially promising last month to make the footage available to the general public.
Carlson claimed some of the footage easily dispels the Democrats’ “insurrection” narrative of the Capitol riot, such as the with footage of a Capitol police officer calling the whole thing a “set up.”
