MSNBC host Chris Hayes suggested Americans who question the efficacy of COVID face masks be re-educated by a “truth and reconciliation commission.”

The liberal anchor said re-educating anti-mask Americans would be “the most humane and reasonable way to deal with these people.”

When NBC News’ Michael Beschloss released a tweet on Sunday asking why President Trump “jeopardized” Secret Service agents by riding in a vehicle with them after battling COVID-19, conservative activist Matt Schlapp chimed in.

“So masks don’t work? I’m so confused,” Schlapp wrote, referring to the fact that Trump wore a mask while riding with the Secret Service agents.

Apparently triggered by a common-sense question, Hayes responded, “The most humane and reasonable way to deal with all these people, if we survive this, is some kind of truth and reconciliation commission.”

Notice Hayes never addressed whether or not Trump’s mask would hypothetically protect the other passengers in the vehicle.

If re-education is “the most humane and reasonable way to deal with” anti-maskers, what would Hayes suggest if humanity and reason were thrown out of the window?
