“A lot of people have been calling me about Speaker, all I can say is we’ll do whatever is best for the country and for the Republican Party,” said Trump on his way to court Wednesday morning. “My focus is totally on [running for president], if I can help [Republicans] during the process, I would do it.”

Shortly after Rep. Kevin McCarthy lost the speaker’s gavel, multiple congressmen made the call to nominate former President Donald Trump as the next Speaker of the House.
One of the officials, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), gave specifics on why Trump would be fitting for the role:
The only candidate for Speaker I am currently supporting is President Donald J. Trump.
He will end the war in Ukraine.
He will secure the border.
He will end the politically weaponized government.
He will make America energy independent again.

“He will end the war in Ukraine,” said Greene on X Tuesday. “He will secure the border. He will end the politically weaponized government. He will make America energy independent again.”
“He will pass my bill to stop transgender surgeries on kids and keep men out of women’s sports. He will support our military and police…”
As of this writing, other congressmen are in agreement, including Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas) and Rep. Greg Steube (R-Forida).

Notably, the call for Trump began with radio host Alex Jones immediately after McCarthy’s ousting:
“You can nominate someone that’s not in Congress under the Constitution,” said Jones Tuesday. “So, Donald Trump should be nominated as a litmus test on these Republicans with all the fake charges and all the fake trials, how awesome would it be to make Donald Trump Speaker of the House?”
Also, former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said Trump is the best choice because no one will “bring the party together” like Trump, who is also essentially the Republican nominee for the coming general election.
