In the wake of Saturday’s racially-motivated mass shooting at a Buffalo, New York supermarket that left 10 people dead and three injured, two Sunday shootings, one in California and one in Texas, have left at least three people dead.
California police were responding to reports of a shooting at a church on the 24000 block of El Toro Road in Laguna Woods, the authorities said via Twitter on late Sunday. The shooting left one victim dead at the scene, four in critical condition, and another with minor injuries, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

“We have detained one person and have recovered a weapon that may be involved,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Also on Sunday, another shooting took place at a flea market in Harris County, Texas, in which two people died and three were taken to hospital. According to the Harris County Sheriff, the incident was a result of an “altercation” that involved at least two guns and all five of the people.
Mass shootings are an increasingly alarming problem in the United States. On April 11, US President Joe Biden unveiled additional steps to address gun violence, including stopping the proliferation of ghost guns and a comprehensive report on gun trafficking.
