NBC News came to the defense of groomers on Tuesday, claiming the phrase “We’re Coming For Your Children”, which was recently chanted by activists at a NYC Pride Parade, has actually been part of the LGBTQ movement for years.
Weird flex, but okay.
In his article, “We’re Coming For Your Children’ chant at NYC Drag March elicits outrage, but activists say it’s taken out of context“, NBC News reporter Tyler Kingkade argued the phrase doesn’t mean there are groomers in the LGBTQ movement, but that they’re “just words” with no meaning.
The “coming for your children” chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said it’s one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people. https://t.co/vrcbuxCEkf

“To conservative pundits, activists and lawmakers, the video confirmed the allegations they’ve levied in recent years that the LGBTQ community is ‘grooming’ children,” Kingkade wrote.
“But to Brian Griffin, the original organizer of the NYC Drag March, if that’s the worst they heard, it’s only because he wasn’t there this year.”
“Griffin said he chanted obscene things in the past, like ‘Kill, kill, kill, we’re coming to kill the mayor,’ and joked about pubic hair and sex toys during marches. People at the Drag March regularly sing ‘God is a lesbian.’”
“‘It’s all just words,’ Griffin said. ‘It’s all presented to fulfill their worst stereotypes of us,’” Kingkade reported.
Kingkade went on to claim that chanting the phrase “We’re coming for your children” is actually an effort by the LGBTQ movement to “regain control of slurs” against them.
The ‘coming for your children’ chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said it’s one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people. And in this case, they said, right-wing activists are jumping on a single video to weaponize an out-of-context remark to further stigmatize the queer community.
Kingkade then admitted that the NYC Drag March where the chant was caught on video was reportedly organized by the “Radical Faeries”, whose co-founder was an advocate for NAMBLA, a pro-pedophilia organization.

The article is especially fascinating given the mainstream media for months has been denying that the LGBTQ movement has been targeting children to begin with.
Unsurprisingly, Kingkade’s article was utterly eviscerated with critical comments on Twitter.

The fake news media is actually trying to defend a pro-pedo chant at a Pride festival by saying “well, they usually yell more worse violent and vulgar things at these things, so who cares?”
I’m glad words are “just words” when it comes to these hypocritical clowns themselves. pic.twitter.com/f4ERDxMqtX

“This isn’t new, we’ve been targeting your children for years!” is a weird defense.

“used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people”

So they’ve openly been pedophiles for years?

When people chant “into the wood-chipper” in response it’s a provocative expression used to regain control of slurs against blue collar workers.

I’ve been briefly involved with Pride events before. I wasn’t aware that chants alluding to grooming or targeting children was a tradition. This makes it so much worse and disturbing.

This chant has never been used at Pride events, you lunatics. Trying to dispel the narrative that they are coming for your children by chanting they are coming for your children is quite the game plan
Whoever wrote this article needs their hard drives swept immediately.

“We’re coming for your children” went from a right wing conspiracy theory to “this has always been done” in two years.

“It’s not happening. Okay, so it’s happening and has been happening for years. So what’s the issue?”
I don’t think they think these things through
