Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce came under fire over the weekend after starring in a pro-Covid vaccine ad for Big Pharma giant Pfizer.
The NFL player, who’s reportedly dating pop star Taylor Swift, shared the 30-second commercial on his Instagram last Friday encouraging Americans to take both the flu vaccine and the Covid jab at the same time.
A caption on Kelce’s Instagram stated:
With my schedule, saving time is key. The CDC says you can get this season’s updated COVID-19 shot when you get your flu shot if you’re due for both. That’s why I got two shots in one stop! Ask your doctor or pharmacist if it would be right for you. You can also visit CDC’s vaccines.gov to learn more and schedule an appointment. Kelce was criticized for disabling comments in his post, with one X account asserting he “sold his soul to Pfizer to push the clot shots.”

Other X users also recalled last season’s on-field resuscitation of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, whose sudden collapse during a Monday Night Football game was widely believed to have been vaccine-induced.
The two-time Super bowl champion’s paid partnership with Pfizer comes as he was previously tapped by Bud Light over the summer to help rebuild the brand’s image following its disastrous partnership with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney.
