Oprah has apparently disabled comments on her Instagram posts shortly after the billionaire asked for donations to help victims of the Maui wildfires.

Oprah was joined by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson last week to solicit donations after claiming they both contributed $10 million kickstart the People’s Fund of Maui.

“We were so concerned by what was happening that we were texting back and forth, and I read this article that Dolly Parton had given money in her community, and I said: ‘I think this is the answer,’” Winfrey said in the video.

“That money is going to go to one of many residents who have been displaced in Maui,” she added.

But the duo, who shared a combined net worth of $2.8 billion, were dragged online by users for forking over only 0.2% and 1.9% of their net worth for the fundraiser.

Others complained they couldn’t donate because they were living “paycheck to paycheck” thanks to Joe Biden’s policies.

The widespread backlash prompted Oprah to lock the comments on all her social media posts.

This comes amid reports that Lahaina is being fortified with more military personnel, vehicles and equipment, with cleanup efforts planned until at least November.

From Defense One:

More than 670 troops and Defense Department civilians are still “actively engaged” in the response to the devastating wildfires in Maui—continuing the search for victims while also clearing hazardous materials from the impact zone and preparing to allow residents and business owners to return to Lahaina.

“We’re working very closely with the county of Maui for the reentry phase of the operation,” Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Stephen Logan, the commander of Joint Task Force 5-0, told Defense One in an interview.

Efforts to find and recover bodies are continuing, as is an Environmental Protection Agency-led effort to find and remove hazardous materials from the burned area, Logan said: anything “from propane tanks to gasoline to asbestos to paints and thinners.”

Right now, 275 soldiers and airmen are manning checkpoints around Lahaina to keep people out of the area, but that is a “very dynamic” mission, and the checkpoints will collapse or move as the area is reopened, he said.

Notably, Oprah owns approximately 2,000 acres of Maui land, 870 of which she purchased earlier this year.
