Over 7,000 illegal migrants have been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement since Donald Trump took office less than two weeks ago.
According to a post on X by ICE, 7,260 illegal migrants had been arrested as at Friday.
The agency has also lodged 5,763 “detainer” requests with local authorities, asking for migrants to be handed over for deportation.
ICE raids have focused on sanctuary cities like New York, Chicago and Boston.
Targets have included rapists, pedophiles and gang members, including members of the notorious Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs.
Border Czar Tom Homan, who has promised the number of arrests will increase, has said the first raids were intended to target the most dangerous illegals at large in the US.
