Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky engaged in yet another public relations stunt on Thursday when he digitally appeared as a 3D hologram to speak with several tech leaders gathered across Europe.
Overall, Zelensky addressed seven tech events across Europe where he called on the tech industry heads to help fund Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction in exchange for allowing a digital lend-lease agreement.
As Tech Monitor reports, the corporations would be allowed “to use Ukraine as a platform to develop new technologies in return for financial and technological support.”
“It’s no longer science fiction that artificial intelligence is now as smart as humans,” Zelensky told the crowds.
The Ukrainian leader also said it’s “unusual for presidents to use a hologram to address people,” but joked it’s not the only part of “Star Wars” they are putting into practice, saying, “We will defeat the Empire too.”
Ironically, Zelensky wore pro-Empire clothing during the speech with a “Star Wars” shirt reading, “Come to the Dark Side,” and “Dominate or Die.”
The image on the shirt shows several “Star Wars” aircraft and a pair of Mandalorian fighters, with one standing on the body of an astronaut wearing a Russian Soviet Union helmet.
Continuing, he claimed allowing this tech revolution would somehow eliminate “corruption” and create an environment where, “for the first time in human history, the state is 100% comfortable for people.”
Zelensky promoted a future where Ukraine adopts a “digital government where all services to people and companies will be provided” and a “100% cashless and paperless” society will emerge.
The president also advocated for the use of artificial intelligence in the judiciary system.
“Our goal is to make Ukraine the freest digital state in the world,” Zelensky stated. “Ukraine is a chance for a global digital revolution, a chance for every technology company and a chance for every visionary to show their value, skills, technologies and ambitions.”
Ukraine will not be in the running for one of the world’s most free states if Zelensky is able to ram through the dystopian wishes of his technocrat masters in the World Economic Forum, at Davos and elsewhere.
