A robbery suspect was disarmed and nearly killed by employees at a pizza shop in Texas last week, according to reports.

The incident unfolded at around 7 p.m. on October 10 in Austin.

The would-be thief, identified in an arrest affidavit as 19-year-old Richard Curtis, stepped up to the counter at a Marco’s Pizza location and flashed a pistol in his waistband while handing a note to a worker that read, “Don’t say s**t empty the drawer,” Fox 7 reports.

Instead of surrendering cash, the employee put Curtis in a chokehold while the manager wrestled the gun away.

The manager allegedly tried to shoot Curtis with his own firearm, but when the weapon failed to discharge, he proceeded to pistol-whip the suspect before brandishing a kitchen knife and asking, “Prison or death?”

Curtis reportedly chose prison and stopped fighting back.

Workers restrained him until police arrived.

Curtis was charged with aggravated robbery.

One Marco’s Pizza employee was taken to a local hospital and treated for head injuries.
