On Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin announced he is and always has been ready for peace discussions with Ukraine. He stressed it has been Ukraine which outlawed peace negotiations with Russia. Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky however believes that the U.S. President Donald Trump, who has orchestrated peace negotiations with Russia, is spewing out Russian disinformation.
“I’ve said this 100 times, if they are willing, they are free to engage in such talks,” Putin said Wednesday. “We are ready to go back to the negotiating table.”
The door to end the war has always been open, this is even something President Trump referenced on Tuesday.
“When they’re worried about not being seated [at the peace negotiations] you mean somebody who should have gone in and made a deal a long time ago,” Trump said Tuesday.

Zelensky’s apprehension to peace negotiations was demonstrated prior to Trump initiating his own peace summit with Russia. Before the U.S. Russian meeting in Saudi Arabia, Trump directed Zelensky to enter peace talks with Russia, but Zelensky just went on Piers Morgan’s talkshow and complained about not having nuclear weapons.
“Russia has never walked away from the negotiation process with Ukraine, never,” Putin said.
While U.S. and Russian diplomats have met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to begin the process of peace negations, it was previously reported that Trump and Putin will meet next month. It is now being reported that said meeting may possibly happen this month, likely indicating the process of ending the war is going better than expected.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, could meet by the end of February, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said. He cautioned, however, that the arrangements for a meeting may take longer,” RT said Thursday.
Due to the ‘threat’ of peace to Western European politicians and the Ukraine-industrial-complex, leaders in France and the U.K. are becoming upset while Zelensky is now claiming Trump is spewing Russian disinformation, a similar claim as Hillary Clinton made against Trump during the 2016 election, giving rise to the fake dossier and the Mueller investigation.
“Zelensky referenced the Ukrainian pollster’s report as evidence against Trump’s skepticism about public support for him. He noted that Ukrainian officials ‘are aware of this disinformation and recognize that it is coming from Russia,’ without providing specific sources. He stressed that ‘if anyone wants to replace me right now, it’s not going to happen’,” RT said Wednesday.
While Zelensky denounces anyone wishing to replace him via elections, a bid to remain in power democracy-be-damned, Russia has recently claimed that NATO itself is seeking to dump the Ukrainian ruler.
