On Thursday, the radical Islamic terrorist group Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham (similar to ISIS, IS, Al Qaeda) launched a large-scale attack in the Aleppo and Idlib provinces of Syria and overran areas held by the country’s military.
“[The attack is] an attack on Syria’s sovereignty in the region,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday, according to RT. “…we would like the Syrian authorities to restore order there as soon as possible.”

“Our armed forces were able to inflict heavy losses on the attacking organizations,” the Syrian Defense Ministry said on Thursday, according to RT.

Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham HTS reportedly comes out of another radical Islamic terrorist group, Jabhat al-Nusra. It has members from various other terrorist groups as well. This is notable as the U.S. has utilized various radical Islamic terrorist organizations as proxy forces to fight Russia in Syria.
Russia has supported Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his fight against similar radical Islamic forces, such as ISIS in 2015.
“Before adopting its current name in 2017, Hayat Tahrir-al-Sham was known as Jabhat al-Nusra. Jabhat al-Nusra was one of the main factions opposing Bashar Assad’s government during the Syrian Civil War,” RT said Friday. “Russia intervened in the conflict in 2015, helping Assad retake much of the country from Jabhat al-Nusra, Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), and dozens of U.S.-supported armed groups deemed ‘moderate rebels’ by Washington.”
Then-candidate Donald Trump named President Barack Obama as the ‘founder of ISIS‘, something later confirmed by the former Director of National Intelligence. In 2016 a hacked memo from Rep. Nancy Pelosi revealed Obama helped ISIS grow. Former Secretary of State John Kerry was caught on leaked audio in 2017 admitting that Obama wanted ISIS to grow.

“Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are founding members of ISIS by bankrolling, arming and supporting jihadists in Syria and Libya to both destabilize the Middle East and expand the domestic police state,” Infowars said in 2016. “Clinton even admitted in 2009 that the U.S. government – staffed with many of her closest allies – was responsible for al-Qaeda, which morphed into ISIS.”

While Obama armed and funded radical Islamic terrorists in the region under the guise of calling them ‘moderate rebels’ and used the U.S. military as ISIS’s air force, President Trump had an ISIS leader killed, something downplayed by Obama politicos.
Gen. Michael Flynn is rumored to have been targeted by the Democrats for openly rebuking moves by the Obama administration arming ISIS.
The Syrian development is noteworthy on the global geopolitical stage, coming at a time when the conflict in Ukraine between the West and Russia is potentially climaxing and a resolution is currently in the works.
