Republican Kentucky Senator Rand Paul told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday that Dr. Anthony Fauci should be tried and jailed for betraying America, and said Congress has him “dead to rights.”
Hannity asked the GOP politician about Fauci’s NIH funneling tax dollars to the Wuhan lab where gain of function research created the manipulated Covid virus and questioned the timing of the doctor’s knowledge about the virus’s origins.
Paul explained, “We now have proof in Anthony Fauci’s own words. We have his emails. In public, he’s saying, ‘If you say it came from the lab you’re a conspiracy theorist, you’re crazy.’ But in private he’s saying, ‘We’re very concerned because the virus seems to be manipulated and we’re also very concerned because we know they’re doing gain of function research in Wuhan.’”
The senator went on to explain Fauci told him during a committee hearing the U.S. didn’t fund gain of function research in Wuhan while simultaneously saying the opposite in emails.
“We have him dead to rights,” Paul said, adding that he’s sent a referral to Attorney General Merrick Garland who is “the most partisan attorney general we’ve ever had” and is “protecting” Fauci instead of doing his job.
Continuing, the Kentucky Republican said this could be “the biggest cover-up we’ve ever had in the history of our country,” adding, “a million Americans died and we deserve to know what happened.”
Paul also confirmed Fauci illegally lied to Congress and chalked up the lack of action for that crime to the two-tiered Biden judicial system.
Closing out the interview, Senator Paul said Fauci should “without question” be in prison and called him “a traitor to his country.”
