A ‘refugee’ from Afghanistan was arrested for allegedly stabbing a caseworker in Michigan, according to authorities.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday in Orion Township, located roughly 40 miles outside Detroit.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) received a 911 call about the attack, which occurred at a location that has not been disclosed at the time of this writing.
“The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. The investigation revealed that the suspect is an Afghanistan refugee and the victim is a caseworker for a company that assists refugees,” OCSD explained in a statement on social media.

The victim was rushed to hospital and treated for “very serious multiple stab wounds,” OCSD said.
The suspect was quickly taken into custody.
A motive for the stabbing has not been made public.
