The Chinese Communist Party’s influence on US soil has “expanded rapidly” due to illegal immigration, espionage and other activities within the US, says a new report from the House Committee on Homeland Security.
The “China Threat Snapshot” report provides a detailed summary of China’s growing influence over the US, including 55 cases of espionage related to the CCP during the Biden Presidency, out of a total of 224 since the year 2000.
“Cases of Chinese espionage throughout the US have expanded rapidly with Chinese nationals and non-Chinese individuals acting on behalf of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) allegedly committing a variety of forms of espionage including but not limited to, government, military, and economic espionage,” the report states.
The Chinese government is also implicated in schemes to target Chinese dissidents in the US, and in schemes to steal intellectual property and advanced technology.
The Committee also released a press statement to accompany the report. The statement condemns the Biden-Harris government for allowing Chinese nationals to enter the US illegally in record numbers.
“The Biden-Harris administration has overseen the largest influx of Chinese nationals illegally crossing the Southwest border than any previous administration. While the motivating factors driving Chinese nationals to cross the border are multifaceted, a thorough review is warranted due to the glaring security vulnerabilities at the border. In FY24 alone, Border Patrol agents have recorded more than 36,000 apprehensions of Chinese nationals—more than all those recorded from FY07-20 combined.”
One estimate suggests there was an 8,000% increase in Chinese illegal immigration into the US between March 2021 and May 2024. The true number of Chinese illegal immigrants in the US is unknown.
The Post Millennial recently exposed a Telegram channel run by a CCP-linked officer that provides advice for how to evade Border Patrol when crossing into the US from Mexico.
