Shocking video has surfaced on social media of a Dallas local kayaking on a “crystal clear swamp” that is reportedly the result of a leaking pipe of treated drinking water.
The new ecosystem is located in The Great Trinity Forest and the leak has reportedly been going on for five years.
The footage is a staggering display of mismanagement:
“What if I told you all the water in this swamp was coming from a broken water main of treated drinking water for the city of Dallas?” Said the kayaker. “… It’s flooding hundreds of acres of our floodplain forest, The Great Trinity Forest. This water main that’s been broken for at least five years has created a huge swamp and a gaping hole … that’s perhaps 30 to 40 feet long and 20 feet deep.”
“I’m estimating tens of millions of gallons of our treated drinking water that’s coming out of a broken pipe… The city of Dallas has essentially wasted multiple billions of gallons of treated drinking water. [they’ve] just thrown it into the forest here.”
The Kayaker then claims city officials know about the crisis but haven’t done anything.
“The city has been aware of this, however, they have not fixed it. They have actually chosen to not fix this issue for reasons I don’t understand.”
One Twitter user provided an aerial shot of the swamp:
This shot shows the extent of the swamp north and south of CF Hawn (US175). That's Atomic Truck Parking just north of the swamp. pic.twitter.com/cMytSBEj9R

Many were furious that they were getting ripped off by their local government.
Pisses me off because Dallas wants to tap Lake Palestine and Lake Fork all the way out here for water. They could just fix this and leave our resources alone.

Everyone in Dallas pays for this.

so the government moved parts of a lake , filtered it, and its over there now.
and then they are charging everyone for it?
LOL what a government thing to do.
