The families of Hamas terrorists who died amid skirmishes with Israeli forces will be compensated to the tune of $2.7 million this month as their deaths are viewed under Palestinian Authority (PA) law as martyrdom.
The substantial sums being paid to the terror group are concerning, as they essentially reward the perpetrators for the murder of innocent Israeli civilians.
According to Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), the PA will reward the families of 1,500 dead Hamas fighters 6,000 shekels (around $1,500 USD), in addition to a 1,400 shekel-per-month ($353) allowance for life.
Furthermore, “Families of those terrorists who were married and had children will receive even more.”
This means “The PA will pay at least 11,100,000 shekels ($2,789,430) this month as a reward for participating in last week’s murders and atrocities against Israeli civilians.”
The families of captured Hamas terrorists will also benefit from their murders of Israelis, receiving 1,400 shekels per month, which can rise to as much as 12,000 shekels per month.
According to PMW, the PA in October alone will pay no less than 11,170,000 shekels under their “pay-for-slay” program.
“This is a low estimate since as the war continues there will be additional Hamas terrorist ‘Martyrs’ and prisoners,” notes PMW.
The publication adds the funds to pay the “martyrs” would not be possible without aid to the PA from “EU countries and Norway, currently the largest funders of the PA because the PA could not possibly make these terror payments without them.”
Perhaps there’s not only a religious motive behind their deadly terror, but also a financial incentive.
