Independent journalist Patrick Lancaster reported from the ground in the Donetsk People’s Republic where Ukrainian shelling has been taking place since Russia’s military advancement on the nation.
Essentially, the cities of Donetsk and Luhansk, known as the Donbas region, are being attacked by Ukraine for seeking to become independent from it.
Considering Ukraine will not recognize the area’s independence, the nation is technically shelling its own people.
Speaking with India’s Republic media network, Lancaster showed footage of what Donetsk locals say is a Ukrainian Scarab missile that landed in a civilian’s backyard.
Lancaster also documented the bombing of a local school, which allegedly resulted in the death of two teachers.
“All the witnesses say this is Ukrainian shelling,” he reported. “We’ve interviewed many. We can see all the windows broken out and unfortunately, this attack was not in the night and there were people here. There were two teachers in this room and they both lost their life. It’s very hard to see something like this but it shows the human toll of this war right now. Again, all the witnesses this was done by a Ukrainian attack and the apartment buildings near here were hit as well.”
Lancaster joined The Alex Jones Show on Thursday to describe the situation from his on-the-ground vantage point.
