Several Republican lawmakers have come out against President Trump in recent days, calling for him to concede the election to Joe Biden instead of contesting in the courts.
As if on cue, numerous Republican senators and governors made the morning talk show circuit to voice their discontent with Trump refusing to concede.
Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) said on “Meet the Press” Sunday that Trump should end his election fight.
“I agree there has to be an end. I frankly do think it’s time —well, it was past time to start a transition or at least to cooperate with the transition,” Cramer said. “I would rather have a president that has more than one day to prepare should Joe Biden end up winning this.”
Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) said Trump was turning America into a “banana republic” by contesting the election results.
“Quite frankly, we used to supervise elections around the world, and we were the most respected country with respect to elections,” Hogan told CNN on Sunday. “Now we are beginning to look like we are a banana republic. Now it’s time for them to stop the nonsense. It’s more bizarre every single day, and, frankly, I’m embarrassed that more people in the party aren’t speaking up.”
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said Trump should move on because election fraud evidence “doesn’t exist.”
“What’s happened here, quite frankly, the conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment,” Christie told ABC on Sunday.
“The evidence has not been presented, and you must conclude. As Tucker Carlson even concluded the other night, that if you are unwilling to come forward and present the evidence, it must mean the evidence doesn’t exist.”
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wisc.) issued a statement Saturday calling for Trump to present election fraud evidence to the public square or accept Biden as the winner.
“America is governed by the rule of law,” the chair of the House Republican Conference said in a statement. “The President and his lawyers have made claims of criminality and widespread fraud, which they allege could impact election results. If they have genuine evidence of this, they are obligated to present it immediately in court and to the American people.”
Trump responded to Cheney, telling her she’s just unhappy that he’s bringing the troops back from the Middle East quagmire her father Dick Cheney helped start in 2003.
Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah) and Ben Sasse (Neb.), two well-known Never Trump Republicans, issued statements on Thursday calling Trump’s refusal to concede “undemocratic.”
Sen. Pat Toomy (R-Pa.) on Saturday called for Trump to “accept the outcome of the election,” and congratulated Biden and Kamala Harris.
Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) also claimed Trump doesn’t have any evidence of election fraud or abuse, adding that the “voters have spoken.”
“You know what? The voters have spoken. No one has come up with any evidence of fraud or abuse. All 83 counties have certified their own election results,” Upton told CNN on Sunday.
Of course, RINO treachery isn’t complete without John Bolton, Trump’s former National Security Adviser, who said Trump is “throwing rocks through windows” by contesting the election.
“Well, I think Biden will be sworn in. I think the real question now is how much damage Trump can do before that happens,” Bolton told CNN on Sunday.
“I mean, right now, I think Trump is throwing rocks through windows. I think he is the political equivalent of a street rioter. I think he has given up on the legal issues.”
As “America First” proponent Nick Fuentes noted at the Georgia State Capitol Saturday, Trump’s revolution against the establishment began as a war against the Republican Party.
“I am done being tricked and betrayed and abused by the Republican Party, Fuentes shouted. “The Trump Revolution began in 2016 as a revolution against the Republican Party. The Republican Party, which before stood only for the donors and the special interests.”
As the Constitution provides, Trump is well within his rights to take up his case with the courts until Inauguration Day on January 20, 2021.
How many more Republicans will reveal themselves as craven bureaucrats before this is all over?
