Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema and ex-Democrat-turned-Independent Senator Joe Manchin both slammed Democrat presidential selectee Kamala Harris for supporting the elimination of the Senate filibuster.
Harris told Wisconsin Public Radio on Tuesday she backs getting rid of the filibuster in order to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law after the Supreme Court overturned the case in 2022.
The bold idea appears to be dividing Democrat politicians as several have already criticized Harris’ news’s comments.
Responding to the news, Sinema wrote, “To state the supremely obvious, eliminating the filibuster to codify Roe v Wade also enables a future Congress to ban all abortion nationwide. What an absolutely terrible, shortsighted idea.”

What an absolutely terrible, shortsighted idea. https://t.co/ldzTB9BkV7
Senator Manchin, who left the Democratic Party in May and plans on retiring at the end of the year, told CNN on Tuesday he will not be supporting Harris’ presidential campaign after she supported axing the filibuster.
“Shame on her,” he said. “She knows the filibuster is the Holy Grail of democracy. It’s the only thing that keeps us talking and working together. If she gets rid of that, then this would be the House on steroids. I think that basically can destroy our country, and my country is more important to me than any one person or any one person’s ideology. … I think it’s the most horrible thing.”
BREAKING: Joe Manchin says "Shame on her" after Kamala Harris promises to gut the Senate filibuster to pass a national law on abortion after the issue was sent back to the states following Dobbs. Manchin now refuses to endorse Kamala Harris for president.

The Democrats are also trying to expand the Supreme Court and eliminate the Electoral College, so getting rid of a tool of checks and balances such as the filibuster is sadly par for the course when it comes to the leftist agenda of dismantling the American political system built by the Founding Fathers.
