A luxury fashion retailer suffered massive losses when a “flash mob” of masked thieves embarked on a planned looting spree in broad daylight in California this week, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Glendale, a city in Los Angeles County.
Up to 40 suspects wearing hoodies and masks stormed an Yves Saint Laurent store at Americana at Brand, a large shopping, entertainment, and residential complex.
Bystanders captured footage of the thieves pouring out of the high-end shop with arms full of merchandise.
“Glendale police said about $300,000 worth of merchandise was stolen in what was described as a ‘flash mob’ burglary involving 30-40 people. The suspects escaped in about 20 separate vehicles,” KABC reports, citing local law enforcement.
No suspects were apprehended or identified as of Wednesday night.
An investigation is ongoing.
