Officials in Aurora, Colorado, are sounding the alarm over a wave of violent crimes perpetrated by armed Venezuelan gangs who’ve taken over entire complexes as their base of operations.

Shocking videos going viral on social media show large groups of armed Venezuelans invading entire apartment complexes.

The City of Aurora recently shuttered the 99-unit complex called Fitzsimons Place the Tren de Aragua cartel had occupied as a headquarters for criminal activity, including kidnapping, human trafficking, and robbing stores.

This footage shows a sprawling parking lot with trash strewn everywhere thanks to the Venezuelans “taking over,” with the cameraman almost getting hit by a runaway vehicle driven by a Venezuelan.

The Aurora Police Department launched a task force last week in the wake of a deadly gang shootout at one of the occupied apartment complexes.

But according to reports, city and county officials have been slow to address the growing violence for what many claim are ideological reasons.

From the New York Post:

John Fabbricatore, who was previously the head of ICE’s office in the Denver region and is now running for Congress, said the gang has been running amok in the area — and officials have been slow to react.

“It’s become increasingly clear that certain city officials, including the Aurora Police Department, have downplayed or ignored the criminal activities affecting many neighborhoods in North Aurora,” said Fabbricatore.

“Notably, illegal immigrant gang activities have been present in specific apartment complexes throughout Aurora, yet these issues have been understated for what appear to be ideological reasons.”

Despite the slew of Tren de Aragua crimes in Denver, Marc Sears, president of Aurora’s police union, said that it’s “absolutely inaccurate” to say the gang is taking over the city.

“They’re not any different than any other documented gang that we have. I can tell you that the officers, is there a concern about this quote-unquote ‘green light’ that they have on officers. Sure, there’s a concern about it, but in my opinion, as the union president, I feel that we have been green-lighted since 2020.”

Rather than address the obvious crimes by these unvetted illegal aliens, Democrats are more determined than ever to give them sanctuary at taxpayer expense, with California now offering $150,000 taxpayer-funded down payments to migrants for a house, and Oregon offering $30,000 loans to first-time home buyers who are not American citizens.
