Update – Monday, Aug. 7 4:40PM CT: Ne-Yo issued a statement Monday responding to reports he apologized for angering the woke trans mob, doubling down on his previous sentiments that parents should not be pushing transgenderism on impressionable children.
Ne-Yo said, despite offending members of the LGBT community, as a father of seven he would never be okay with parents allowing children to decide what gender they are and undergoing irreversible sex reassignment surgeries.

R&B singer Ne-Yo issued an apology to the woke mob after he voiced his opinion criticizing parents who preach the gospel of transgenderism and sex changes to their children.
In an interview published Saturday with VladTV, Ne-Yo, AKA Shaffer Chimere Smith, admitted he was apprehensive over the trans teachings happening to children in progressive liberal households across America.
“When did it become a good idea to let a five-year-old, a six-year-old, a 12-year-old make a life-changing decision for [themselves]?” Ne-Yo asked interviewer Gloria Velez. “When did that happen?”
Within a day of stating his opinion, Ne-Yo promptly issued an apology in which he appeared to completely reverse his stance, most likely to avoid any potential negative impact on his career.
After much reflection, I’d like to express my deepest apologies to anyone that I may have hurt with my comments on parenting and gender identity. I’ve always been an advocate for love and inclusivity in the LGBTQI+ community, so I understand how my comments could’ve been interpreted as insensitive and offensive. Gender identity is nuanced and I can honestly admit that I plan to better educate myself on the topic, so I can approach future conversations with more empathy. At the end of the day, I lead with love and support everyone’s freedom of expression and pursuit of happiness.
Ne-Yo’s bowing to the woke trans mob prompted many on social media to speculate his apology came at the behest of his handlers.
“NeYo was speaking the truth on a podcast. It went viral, NeYo got the call. He then proceeded to recant the truth and apologize for speaking it,” summarized embattled male empowerment influencer Andrew Tate, adding, “All of you don’t realize, that call is very real. Look what happens to people like me when we don’t bend.”
Likewise, woke watchdog Libs of Tik Tok noted, “The woke mob came for him and he buckled under the pressure. Massive L.”
“Never be afraid to speak the truth and stand up for your beliefs,” wrote the popular X account.
Never bend the knee.
