Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was released from prison Tuesday morning after a four-month incarceration. The War Room host was imprisoned for defying a subpoena from the January 6 Select Committee.
In June Bannon began his stint at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut after the Supreme Court denied his request to remain out of jail pending the outcome of his appeal.
“I am proud of going to prison,” Bannon said at the time according to Breitbart, adding he was standing up to Attorney General Merrick Garland and a “corrupt” Justice Department, Breitbart wrote.

“In October he was sentenced to serve four months in prison on two counts of contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the Democrat-run January 6 Select Committee that was created to investigate the riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021,” Breitbart said Tuesday. “The 70-year-old plans to hold a news conference later in the day in Manhattan, his representatives said. He’s also expected to resume his podcast Tuesday.”
