Team USA delivered a smackdown to the Canadian team during Saturday’s 4 Nations Face-Off hockey tournament after the Montreal, Canada crowd loudly booed during the singing of the American National Anthem.
Following the disrespectful boos, American hockey player Matthew Tkachuk dropped his gloves the second the puck hit the ground for the game’s opening and started a fight with Canada’s Brandon Hagel.
After the pair were sent to the penalty box, Tkachuk’s younger brother Brady threw hands with Canada’s Sam Bennet as soon as the puck again hit the ice.
Just three seconds of gametime later, U.S. player J.T. Miller got into it with Canadian Colton Parayko for the third fight of the night.
Team USA went on to pummel their northern neighbors 3-1.
Kicking Canadian ass runs in the Tkachuk family as Matthew and Brady’s father fought Canadian hockey player Claude Lemieux at the beginning of a 1996 matchup between the two nations.
Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds posted to 𝕏, “Last night Team Canada learned FAFO.”
The Lynyrd Skynrd classic “Freebird” was blasted through the stadium’s speakers every time Team USA scored a goal.
A compilation of action from the game with “Freebird” playing in the background is going viral online:

The triggered Canadians apparently booed the American National Anthem due to President Donald Trump floating the idea of making Canada a U.S. state and calling globalist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the “governor of Canada.”
For the record, American fans largely remained quiet during the singing of “O Canada.”
Epic memes were birthed thanks to the instant classic hockey game:
