A teenager named Wyatt McGlaun from The Woodlands, a suburb of Houston, Texas, has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome just weeks after receiving his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Describing why he decided to take the shot, McGlaun said, “I wanted to get the vaccine. I felt it was the right thing to do. I wanted to travel and enjoy my last summer before college.”

KPRC Click 2 Houston reported on the tragic story, saying after the jab, “He got extremely weak and had difficulty walking when he was admitted to CHI St. Luke’s in The Woodlands where he was diagnosed.”

Wyatt’s mother told the outlet, “I had to pick him up. My 6 foot 3 completely healthy boy.”

While doctors predictably told the McGlaun family the diagnosis could be a coincidence, Wyatt thinks the illness must have been caused by the vaccine.

“I just knew something didn’t feel right. It wasn’t getting any better,” he explained.

After the eye-opening medical reaction, Wyatt’s parents want others to know they aren’t telling people to avoid the vaccine, but to “do your research” and to remember getting the experimental inoculation is “a personal choice.”
