Authorities apprehended a 16-year-old male suspected of committing at least 10 armed robberies, carjackings, and a kidnapping in a span of hours last week in Washington D.C.
The prolific crime spree unfolded on August 23 and 24 at a variety of locations across the nation’s capital.
At around 2:44 a.m. on Wednesday, the suspect carried out a carjacking at gunpoint, followed by two more armed carjackings before 5 a.m.
Just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, the gun-wielding suspect is believed to have executed a robbery followed by a kidnapping a short time later.
It is alleged that he then carried out six armed robberies in under an hour starting at around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The 16-year-old suspect was apprehended on Friday by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
“Four firearms were recovered at the time of the arrest,” MPD announced in a press release.
“The male was additionally charged with Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.”
An investigation is ongoing.
Carjackings have been on the rise in Washington D.C. in recent years.
Since January 1, MPDC has recorded at least 656 such crimes, a 101% increase over the same period last year.
At least 94 carjackings have taken place in the last 30 days alone.
In the majority of cases, a firearm is used in the commitment of a carjacking, despite D.C. having some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country.
Infowars has been reporting on the surge of crime in many U.S. cities.
