Nearly a dozen ‘unaccompanied minors’ were discovered among a large group of illegal aliens smuggled into Texas this week, authorities say.
On Wednesday morning, Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) troopers encountered more than 100 illegals in Eagle Pass, a border town in Maverick County where mass crossings have once again become the norm.
More than 10 members of the group were found to be lone children, one of whom was just 4 years old.

“This morning, TxDPS encountered a group of 116 illegal immigrants who were apprehended in Eagle Pass,” TxDPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez explained in a post on X that included photos and a video of the encounter.
“Among the group were 11 unaccompanied children – including siblings from Honduras, ages 4 & 7, with a piece of paper to an address in Alabama.”
All 116 illegals were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol for processing.
Immigration news outlet Border Hawk recently learned that an as-yet-unknown criminal network is now overseeing highly-lucrative human smuggling and trafficking operations on the Mexican side of the border in Coahuila state, which sits opposite Eagle Pass.
Cartel tactics are now evident, where they were not before, and growing numbers of ‘unaccompanied minors’ are being found within these groups.
Authorities are finding wrist bands typically used by cartels to signify key details about ‘migrant clients,’ such as whether or not they have paid their dues and where they are clear to travel and cross into the U.S.
TxDPS recently encountered more than 100 ‘unaccompanied minors’ during a two-week span in the Eagle Pass region.
