The hosts of ABC’s “The View” freaked out during Monday’s broadcast while discussing President-elect Donald Trump’s announcement that former ICE Director Tom Homan will be appointed as “border czar” under the new administration.
Talking about a recent Homan interview where he said illegal alien families could be “deported together” to avoid family separation, Ana Navarro said it’s “chilling” and claimed the Trump administration will deport U.S. citizens.
“This is what the country voted for. You know, a lot of people thought that when he talked about mass deportations he wasn’t being serious. I don’t know how many times he had to say it for people to realize he was being serious. Well, if you thought he wasn’t being serious, than the appointment of Tom Homan today as Border Czar – and he will be in charge of a mass deportation program, the largest the country has ever seen they say – and now Stephen Miller as Deputy Chief of Staff, should let you know that he was absolutely serious!”
Continuing, Navarro oddly claimed there aren’t very many illegal alien criminals being held in prisons across the country and fearmongered to viewers that “grandmothers, brothers and aunts,” before switching to Spanish, saying, “abuelos y abuelas,” will be deported.
“Look, America. Those of you who voted for Trump, this is what you wanted, this is what you voted for. You screwed around and you’re about to find out,” she added.
Navarro’s co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in next, falsely telling the audience that “there is no correlation between undocumented people and a rise in crime,” saying illegals are actually LESS LIKELY to commit crimes than actual citizens.
Hostin said the narrative that a wide-open border is a national security threat is “false” and suggested the true reason people want a secure country is racism.
Meanwhile, according to Homeland Security, “382 individuals whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist were stopped trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally between ports of entry from FY2021 to September 2024.”
Homan made an appearance on Fox News Monday to talk about his new role in the Trump administration, telling the hosts he doesn’t care about the attacks on him by Democrats.
“I don’t care what people think about me. Especially on the left… I don’t care if you’re Democrat, Republican, Independent. Border security is national security,” he said.
