An 18-year-old transgender girl has been charged with planning a school massacre on Valentine’s Day.
Trinity Shockley, a girl who chooses to be called “Jamie,” has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and two terrorism offences for planning to commit a mass shooting at Mooresville High School Indiana. She is currently being held without bond.
Shockley is said to be obsessed with Nikolas Cruz, the man responsible for the 2017 Parkland Shooting, which killed 17. She told a school counsellor she was sexually attracted to Cruz and wanted to have children with him. She carried a locket necklace with a picture of him in it and decorated her bedroom wall with images of mass shooters, including Cruz, Dylann Roof and Randy Stair.
The planned massacre was uncovered after an anonymous tip that Shockley had access to an AR-15, purchased a bulletproof vest and had a disturbing obsession with mass shooters.
Shockley was active on Discord servers and spoke about her intention to carry out “Parkland part two.” She stated that she had been planning the massacre for over a year.
Police Chief Kerry Buckner expressed his shock at the arrest.
“Nothing ever happens in Mooresville,” he said.
“It’s a small town. To think somebody was plotting to hurt a lot of individuals, kids, future leaders of this country, is pretty disturbing.”
